Introduction and General Information

The Radio Set, AN/PRC-136 is a hand held, battery powered Crash, Fire, Rescue Communications System Radio.  It is part of the Crash, Fire, Rescue Communications System (CFRCS).  The other parts include the Base Station communications terminal AN/GRC-237 and the Amplifier-Power Supply Group OG-196/PRC.  The 237 base station is very much the same as the Vehicle Adapter case except that the antenna is mounted using a pole bracket and there is a 110-115 VAC to 28 VDC power supply for power.

It looks like the PRC-136 is exactly the same as a High Band only AN/PRC-128.  The OG-196 looks like a High Band only OF-185/PRC.
