This appears to be a Diode Test Set that was used inside HP as part of their manufacturing process. I got it from an eBay seller in Santa Rosa that's near an HP (now Agilent facility) Most likley this test set allows visulaization if the I-V curve of a diode. A sticker on the front says Modified, 1.2 ma 6 VPP. These limits would be approiate for almost any diode including microwave diodes.The CRT is a 2BP1 and there is one each 6BH6 and 6J6A tube inside.
