KD-100 Key Tape Disintegrator

For decades cryptographic keys have been distributed on paper tape using couriers.  Once the key tapes are out of date they need to be destroyed.  This could be done by burning them or using some government approved device.  This KD-100 is an approved device for disintegrating paper, PMP (Polyester-Mylar-Polyester) or plastic key tapes.

This is a first generation machine with the brass cutting drum that's rated for 160 minutes.  The current black cutting drum is rated for 750 minutes.  The current machines are designed to work with a ShopVac which is much more practical than constantly changing the small hand vacuum type bag.

It takes 4 seconds to disintegrate a 10.2" key tape

It grinds up the tape into powder and has what amounts to a vacuum cleaner bag to collect them.  Housing is a NEMA 4X enclosure.
