Background

The SINCGARS family of VHF radios are all post Vietnam.  Here's my background web page for SINCGARS and some of the manuals related to them.  The first ground radio was the RT-1439 and that web describes many of the accessory items that go with it and most of which it think go with the RT-1523.

This is the "C" version of the RT-1523.
This version has provision to transmit it's GPS location when an external GPS receiver is coupled, or maybe it has an internal GPS receiver?
In addition the GPS can set the clock in the RT-1523 which is needed for the frequency hopping.

SRT-1523AM Training Radio

Got a pair of these on eBay, but don't know much about them.  If you have info let me know.
The Hold Up Battery cover (HUB) is just painted on.  The antenna jack is mechanical only so an antenna could be connected but would be non functional.
The RXMT connector is real, but is not hooked up to anything, so re-transmission is not part of the training.

Rear Panel Controls & Connectors (left to right):
Reset: Pressing turns off "Power On LED on top internal PCB.
Power (s 5.5 x 2.0 mm DC power Connector): +15 VDC = center.
2 ea. 8P8C LAN-?-Telephone connectors
DB-15m Digital connector:
3ea 1/4" phone jacks: Speaker Out, Line Out, Line In
DB-9f Audio:
Labels: PIU Ver 3.1.1, STI S/N:, P/N: SRT-1523A or SRT-1523AM (what does the M mean?)
So far no front panel setting will turn on the display digits (what's up with that? let me know.)
