Honda Optimate 3+ Desulfating Battery Charger, Maintainer, Tester

I have a number of 7 AH Gel Cell batteries that mostly sit to the point that they get sulphated and no longer will take a charge. While studying DC permanent magnet Motors I've watched a number of YouTube videos of the "Bedini Motor" which is not really a motor but rather a battery charger desulfater. After looking into circuits for pure desulfaters it turns out that they are not a complete product like this one that does way more than just desulfate or charge.
Note this device will not work if the battery terminal voltage is below 2 Volts, in the case of the battery shown at the top of this page it started out at 3 Volts and the orange light at the bottom means it's desulfating. The manual says that might go on for a number of hours (started at 1:15).
The Optimate 3+ is made by Techmate, this one was re-branded by Honda (purchased from Motorsports of Ukiah a Honda dealer).
Includes a cable with alligator clips for direct battery charging
and a cable you can attach to a vehicle and leave attached
to make it easy to maintain it's battery.
Although there are many status LEDs that are no user controls. It's plug and play.

1:15pm start desulfating
3:35pm now Yellow LED flashing = Verifying (may intermix with charge)
after running overnight the yellow LED is still flashing.
Disconnected battery, voltage now 9.5.
Connected another battery starting voltage 4.5 V.
Started out on orange/red LED some time later switched to blinking yellow.
The third battery ended up charged
green LED at right is on as well as
the green power LED on the left.
